About Spring Valley Dental
Two doctors. Over 30 years of caring for North Dallas families, with genuine warmth and zero judgment.
Caring for North Dallas families.
Spring Valley Dental Associates has served North Dallas families for over 30 years, led by founding dentist Dr. Shokooh Aletaha and partner Dr. Nicole Houshmand.
Spring Valley Dental Associates was founded with a simple mission: exceptional dental care in a comfortable, welcoming environment, without the judgment, pressure, or hidden costs that make so many people avoid the dentist in the first place.
What started as a single-doctor practice has grown into a comprehensive dental team serving thousands of Dallas families. Our philosophy has never changed: conservative, preventive care that helps patients keep their natural teeth for life, delivered with the personal attention every patient deserves.
Today, patients drive from Addison, Farmers Branch, Carrollton, Irving, and across the Tollway corridor to see us, and many have been with us since we opened our doors.
Who are the dentists at Spring Valley Dental?
Dr. Nicole Houshmand, DDS
Dr. Houshmand grew up watching dentistry practiced at its best, she's a second-generation dentist who knows firsthand that the chair can feel scary. Certified in conscious sedation, she makes it her mission that anxious patients finally get the care they've been putting off.
"My goal is to make every patient feel heard and comfortable. When patients feel relaxed and informed, they make better decisions about their health, and they actually come back."

The "no judgment" promise, in practice
Almost every week, someone sits in one of our chairs and apologizes for how long it's been. Six years. Ten years. Since college. The apology is never necessary here, and that's not a slogan, it's the operating principle this practice was built on. People avoid the dentist for understandable reasons: a bad experience, fear of pain, fear of cost, fear of being lectured. Adding shame to that list helps no one.
So here is what actually happens at a first visit after a long gap. We look. We listen to what's bothering you and what you want. We show you exactly what we see, on the screen, in plain language, and we sort it honestly into what's urgent, what's worth planning for, and what's fine to leave alone. You get costs in writing before anything starts, and you decide the pace. Some patients fix everything in a season; some spread a plan over two years. Both are valid.
For patients whose anxiety runs deeper than reassurance can reach, Dr. Houshmand's conscious sedation certification means treatment can happen comfortably here, not at a referral office across town. Many of our most loyal patients started as our most nervous ones.
Three decades of North Dallas dentistry
Dr. Shokooh Aletaha founded Spring Valley Dental Associates in 1994, and the practice has served North Dallas families for over 30 years. That continuity matters more than it might seem: your records, your history, and the dentists who know your mouth don't churn every few years. We regularly see patients whose first visit was in the nineties, and now we see their children as adults.
Dr. Nicole Houshmand joined as partner and brought the practice's sedation program, emergency focus, and a second-generation dentist's perspective, she grew up around dentistry and knows exactly how the chair feels from the patient's side. Between the two doctors, the practice covers general, cosmetic, restorative, emergency, and sedation dentistry in-house, including implants placed and restored without outside referral.
The practice is bilingual, se habla español, and serves families from Addison, Farmers Branch, Carrollton, Richardson, Irving, and across the Tollway corridor. Evening hours on Monday and Wednesday until 7 PM exist because we know most dental care gets postponed for one reason: nobody can get away at 2 PM on a Tuesday.
